Omega Water Treatment Works

The Wastewater Treatment and Sludge Disposal (Omega) PPP Project was formally launched in March 2005 and entails the treatment of wastewater to agreed levels of quality, compliant with relevant EU Directives and a Sludge Disposal solution. Omega includes existing wastewater treatment works at Ballynacor, Bullays Hill; Seagoe; Armagh; Richhill and Ballyrickard, the provision of a new state of the art WwTW for North Down/Ards and a Sludge Disposal Solution for all of N. Ireland. This project represents approximately 20% of Northern Ireland’s current wastewater treatment capacity and all of its sludge disposal capacity.
