Contaflex Activ
Contaflex-activ are water barriers with an additional bentonite coating. This system combines the advantages of a traditional water barrier with the additional capacity of Volclay-Bentonite to form a positive seal while expanding. Volclay-Bentonite is a natural sodium bentonite with high swelling capacity and stability. Its constant activation in changing water levels is well established.
The sealing process is initiated without delay. Overlaps are installed as active overlaps. The full-surface bentonite layer between the water barriers forms an impervious seal inside the overlap. The bentonite layer is protected against rain and hydration by a protective film.
